hello hello readers. (cewah, macam ramai plak readers kan).
dah beberapa hari tak update kerana busy. alasan...alasan... exam will be on 14th and 15th...so, please do pray for me... so, hari ni nak share cerita ttg making the difference in other people's life yaaa.
on thursday, lepas balik dr mesyuarat nuuuuuun jauh sana, i catched up with my "homies" (ewwwww) at McD, and headed to mukhtar mall (tmpat jual home appliances). cik jah kata she saw espresso machine less than JD100... so, ingatkan nak pegi tanda2 dulu lah lepas tgk dekat irbid mall espresso machine tu cost like 139JD -->so not worth it kan! then, tengok2 di mukhtar mall ada jual for 19.99 JD only... and it has steam wand!!!! apa lagi, terus tgk di safeway berapa pulak , pastinya lebih mahal sebab berbeza jenama, so patah balik to mukhtar and got myself that precious thing lah!
so 1st nite, i tak berjaya lagi nak froth the milk. technique salah agaknya... before this, i usually ikut tips home made latte, mula2 sejukkan milk then shake shake shake till u double the volume. i was suppose to panaskan milk tu dalam microwave, but since my home hanya ada oven saja, i panaskan dalam periuk? haha... so, of course i was sedih sikit my latte tak jadi the way i want it to. dan, tak boleh buat latte art sebab milk is not foamy enough... but i told myself not to give up. dan, i need the right coffee beans sebab using nescafe is sangat tak munasabah because it will flow macam hape je from the coffee basket.
then i realize, i kena sejukkan my milk and the pitcher baru boleh jadi foamy, dan tak payah susah2 nak golek2kan pitcher tu. ok, fine. so, today after class, i singgah gloria donuts, nak beli their coffee beans. latte GD boleh tahan jugak. then brother tu refuse to sell his coffee beans, i tgk je kat almari dy... jenama dunkin donuts. mungkin sebab dy adalah franchisee jadi tak sudi nak jual. then, after asar, i pegi McDonuts (haha..kelakar kan mcm tiru McD) and asked the dude kat situ ttg coffee yg dy guna. then dy kata itu coffee beans from spain and costs 25JD/kg. woaaaah???? and mmg tak ada jual kat sini cuz dat one mmg imported.
then he suggested i use brazilian coffee, dan bg nama kedai beans. nasib baik dy ckp, kalau tak silap kedai sebab "bin al-arabiy" dan "bin-al-gharbiy" hanya berbeza dgn satu titik saja bila u eja dalam bahasa arab kan. and he told me to mention dekat org kedai tu to grind it like McDonuts' coffee.. mungkin dy pun biasa ambil dari situ. (actually sebab i cannot pickup the word exactly grind macam tu nama apa) and he said make sure tak grind fine sangat, sebab nak bubuh dalam espresso machine mestilah kena sedang2 saja. so, i asked him to show me how to make latte (oh, semangat gila!!) dan he said use susu al-marai biru for best result.
i got my coffee beans. dan malam ni terus buat latte for the girls. okeh, i made it!!! practice DO make perfect. of course belum mencapai tahap perfect lagi, tapi it's getting better lah. i was so happy that i can finally froth part of the milk. (bahagian bawah ada jugak susu cair sikit2). still, belum mencapai tahap utk buat pour latte art lagi nih. i know some people thing it is a waste of time, but, bila u got to accomplish things that u wanted to do the most... i think it's a deposit into you "personal bank account" (rujuk 7 habit) dan memang rasa sangat best ya.
and i learnt that, some barista even berlatih for years to make their latte art. so, i pun akan terus berusaha jugak. one day i will be able to make my own latte art too, inshaAllah...
jadi take home message adalah, see how that barista kat McDonuts tu telah berjaya membantu seorang budak helpless macam i. so, just by being nice, u can actually make a difference in a person's life.
td masa kelas management, Prof was like, "can u, as a doctor causes a hospital to bungkus???" everyone was like "yes". then comes the "How?" dan i was the one who kena answer the question. nasiblah sebab duduk depan kan. "If we fail to maintain our competency". yadayadayada and Doc kata kalau ada org incompetent dalam hospital (organization) kita, just kick him out.
so, after lecture i was like, " kick out incompetent staff, even though we're lack of staff???"
and doc was like sure gila, "YES.it's better to be short on staff than to have incompetent staff. that's why we tell u don't hire incompetent doctors in the first place, but if the problem develops later, just kick him out. just one doctor can make patients go to other hospitals."
then i was like, " ok, but as a doctor, we're not even in the management, how do we contribute to this?"
dan doc memberi jawapannya " by maintaining your competency, be good to your patient. not only it's good for the hospital, but it is also good for yourself."
i rest my case. mmg betullah kata pepatah, kerana nila setitik, rosak susu sebelanga. guna buat berlatih milk frothing sajalah.
panjang gila entry. birthday wish list pulak
next time lah. bye~
